how it works
Better Built is a local green home certification program that provides standards and a blueprint for high performance homes – environmentally responsible homes that appreciate in value and cost less to operate. Here’s how:

The program guides the construction process to avoid water runoff, control sediment and eliminate erosion.
• a more energy efficient home
The program ensures that your home is Energy Star qualified and operates at least 15% more efficiently than homes built to current standards.
• a water-conscious home
The program supports the EPA’s WaterSense program, requiring the use of water-efficient fixtures.
• a highly durable structure
The program provides quality assurance and requires that homes are built to resist material wear through better construction methods.
• a healthier, livable indoors
The program ensures that your HVAC and ductwork is properly sized and eliminate sources of contamination.
