Ethan Collier - President
With 10 years of construction experience, Ethan manages Collier Construction. He started the company in April of 2002, and although the company has grown considerably in the last 6 years, he continues to have “hands-on” involvement in all phases of the business. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of South East Tennessee, a member of the local and national USGBC (US Green Building Council), and is constantly keeping up with the changes in building science and sustainability. Ethan grew up in Chattanooga. He and his wife, Mary, have adopted a son from Kazakhstan. Ethan enjoys cooking with his wife, running, mountain biking, hanging out with his brother, camping, and hiking when he has the chance.
Jason Lentz - Vice President of Sales, Senior Project Estimator
Jason oversees project estimating and project sales. He has experience as an architect, a carpenter, and is currently a liscensed real estate agent specializing in new home sales. He received his business degree from the University of Georgia, majoring in Real Estate Development. Jason is a member of the local and national USGBC (US Green Building Council), an Allied member of the local AIA (American Institute of Architects), and a member of the local (CAR), state (TAR), and National Association of Realtors (NAR). He is an avid skier and mountain biker. He is also a devoted SCCA Auto Cross racer. Jason and his wife, Katherine, live in North Chattanooga.
Margret Huffine - Office Manager
Margret is responsible for all aspects of office management. She worked for 10 years at Chattanooga Christian School as an office manager; and for 11 years at her Alma Mater, Covenant College, as an academic advisor and recruiter for the QUEST program. She has taught a Sunday school class for 2 year olds for 20 years, and has lived in East Tennessee all her life. She and her husband, Alvin, have 5 children and 13 grandchildren.
Matthew Layne - Vice President of Operations, Project Manager
Matthew oversees construction projects in the field. He has 10 years of building experience and is a skilled carpenter. He lives in Skymont , Tennessee and attends Cumberland Heights Seventh Day Adventist Church where he serves as an Elder and as a Sabbath school teacher. He and his wife, Gabriela, enjoy camping, riding horses, and canoeing with their three young children - Benjamin (7), Sophia (5), and Olivia (3).
Don Wallis - Sales Manager
Don oversees sales and marketing. He has 40 years of building experience. He has worked as a carpenter, job foreman, project manager, estimator, as well as in sales and marketing. He has been active in the Home Builders Association, Habitat for Humanity and a number of other civic and community organizations for many years. Don enjoys tennis, hiking and traveling. He has four children and lives on Signal Mountain.
Dylan Terney - Job Foreman
Dylan manages building projects in the field. He has 6 years of construction experience and is a skilled carpenter. On weekends he enjoys hiking, biking and swimming. He lives in St. Elmo.
Darnell Bice - Supervisor
Darnell manages our field personnel. He organizes our crews and schedules projects. He also provides technical advice and training to new personnel. He has 30 years of building experience. He is a skilled carpenter and has been supervising construction projects for over 12 years. Darnell enjoys hunting, fishing and gardening. He and his wife, Edie, enjoy traveling and RVing. They live in North Hamilton County.
Bryan Youngblood - Project Supervisor
Bryan oversees multiple projects both commercial and residential. He has a degree in Construction Management from Mississippi State University. Bryan has 10 years of experience in both commercial and residential project management as well as estimating. He and his wife, Laura enjoy backpacking, mountain biking, and cooking together. They live in St. Elmo.
Cathy Collier - Administrative Assistant
Cathy who is Ethan's older sister, was hired in November 2007 to help assist Margret in office management. She is primarily responsible for accounts payable and reception. Cathy also writes Collier Construction's monthly newsletter and is in charge of planning and coordination events and meetings. She is working to create a customer project completion notebook and is overseeing the interior decorating of the Collier Construction offices. She previously worked for 6 years at University Oncology & Hematology Associates in oncology billing and insurance. Cathy lives in downtown Chattanooga and also pursues a career in art. She is organizing and exhibiting in this years Clothesline Art Show, exhibiting at CreateHere on Main St. and is currently writing a grant proposal for a large art project. Cathy enjoys biking and playing tennis in her free time.
