putting building science within reach with (re)source
download (re)source packet
Our goal is to promote sustainable building practices and help educate others about green construction. We believe it is in everyone’s best interest that green construction becomes the norm.
As Chattanooga continues to embrace sustainability, it is essential that the public understands the concepts of green building. We believe that green construction and sustainable design are the foundation of stronger communities.
So Collier Construction has developed a guide to sustainable building practices, and we've called it (re)source. The (re)source packet highlights 5 sustainable building practices—sustainable resource management, advanced framing, the insulated crawl space and attic, the sealed air barrier, and the rain screen siding system.
Architectural renderings and photography from Eric Myers, Christian Rushing and Trey Wheeler, and the excellent design work of Matt Greenwell from Widgets and Stone all help the (re)source packet easily convey the concepts of green building science for a better understanding of green houses such as LEED certified and/or EarthCraft homes.
The methods sketched out in the (re)source packet comprise our Whole Systems Approach and allow us to build homes with a minimal environmental impact, improved home quality, interior air quality, home longevity, and reduced energy consumption and maintenance costs.
Download the (re)source packet, and feel free to let us know what you think.
