Collier Construction Company to Donate and Build Signal Mountain Middle/High School Press Box
Chattanooga, TN (July 25, 2008) – Collier Construction announces the donation of a press box for the new football field at Signal Mountain Middle/High School (SMMHS). With design and visualization assistance donated by TWH Architects, Collier Construction will provide all of the materials and labor for the project as part its ongoing support and commitment to our area schools. Construction will begin this week and is expected to be completed in plenty of time for the inaugural home game at the new school in early August.
The 160 square foot SMMHS press box will cost approximately $6,400 and will feature environmentally friendly construction. The materials used for construction are considered "green" by industry professionals and will be comprised of long lasting materials that are low in toxicity.
Collier Construction has always been a strong supporter of public education and has taken an active role in equipping our community's schools through projects like the SMMHS press box. "We want to support local schools, public schools especially," explains Ethan Collier, president and CEO of Collier Construction. "This was a good way for us to get behind the school system and give it a boost."
Last summer Collier Construction donated and built the Signal Mountain Community baseball field's wooden bleachers. And earlier this year, the construction company signed on to "Bring it Together" and renovated Chattanooga Middle School's administrative offices.
Principal Eddie Gravitte praises the generosity that the school has received. “We are extremely grateful that Collier Construction has agreed to donate a press box in support of SMMHS athletics. We have been truly blessed by an outpouring of support from the Signal Mountain community and businesses, and this continues that level of commitment. We are proud of our school and the outstanding facilities that have been built here. I have no doubt that Collier Construction will continue that expectation of excellence.”
