Chattanooga, TN (October 11, 2010) - The Young Professional Association of Chattanooga named Ethan Collier Entrepreneur of the Year Saturday evening during the annual YP Awards banquet.

Mr. Collier stood out from a host of Chattanooga’s best and brightest entrepreneurs, including The PressCore’s Daniel Ryan and John Hawbaker, writer and creative strategist Caleb Ludwick and Velo Coffee’s Andrew Gage.

“I am sincerely honored to be included in this group of individuals” said Collier. “And I am grateful to YPAC for recognizing young talented professionals across a number of industries throughout Chattanooga.”

Collier, 32, started Collier Construction at the age of 24 and has since gone on to pioneer sustainable building practices in the Chattanooga area – having built many of the city’s first LEED certified projects. Additionally, Collier is involved in two local business ventures, Building Performance Consulting and Professional Services Group. He also sits on the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga and the Home Builders Association of Southeast Tennessee.

“The entrepreneurial spirit is something that one possesses not by choice; rather it is somehow in his or her blood," Collier said. "That spirit is a part of who entrepreneurs are at their deepest levels. Individuals that possess such a spirit cannot rid themselves of it. They must at any cost start from scratch, reinvent the wheel, or build it from the ground up.”
