Normal Avenue Residence
The Bragdon Residence on Normal Avenue started as a 1950's rancher that, to put it nicely, had seen better days. Well, we put a little time and love into it for the Bragdon's and it has turned into quite a little gem.
The original size of the home was a cozy 800 s.f. It had a dark and dingy basement, and the only way to access it was to go outside. We took the basement and added a bathroom, an office, a bedroom, a laundry room, and a family room. We punched a set of steps through the first floor, and effectively doubled the home's square footage to 1600 s.f. Also, we installed large walkout doors and bigger windows to let the light in, and brighten up the home. The main floor living area had the walls removed between the kitchen and living areas. We then vaulted the ceiling to help establish a more open space. New Hardie siding, a new roof, and new small front porch also add to the charecter. We are proud of the way this little house has turned out, compared to what it was, the pictures just don't do it justice.
