“No fluke:
August electric bill: $119.47. No travel in August… had another family stay with us for a week.”
(see the last two electric bills)
The Monroe Residence, designed by Trey Wheeler and Wayne Williams of TWH Architects, was an exciting home to build. It is a fully customized home designed with a focus on energy efficiency and low maintenance. We pulled out all the stops to make this 6,100 sq.ft home a long term investment - one that will last 100 years (Collier's Mission).
This beautiful custom built home (see pictures below) features green construction methods such as advanced framing techniques, insulated crawl spaces, pre-tension hollow core concrete floor slabs, TechShield roof decking, high end insulated low-E windows, manual J calculated HVAC for proper and efficient cooling and heating, Icynene insulation, Hardi siding and stone, and a standing seam metal roof.
Because of its beautiful location on Signal Mountain, we limited the number of trees cut down to only what was necessary for the build. A minimal distraction to the surrounding environment was very important to us and the homeowners.
